Artemisia dress (open back)
Named for Italian Renaissance painter, Artemisia Gentileschi, whose dramatic works centered on women and their struggles. Gentileschi walked in Caravaggio’s footsteps yet forged her own path, painting richly-colored Baroque scenes of unflinching realism. Inverting the social and cultural norms of her time, Gentileschi presented women as self-motivated and empowered in the face of brutality.

Mrs Pomeranz’s new collection pays tribute to strong feminist women in art, literature, and music. It’s a celebration of warriors: revolutionary Baroque painter, Artemisia Gentileschi, and inspirational Harlem renaissance artist, Laura Wheeler Waring; brilliant French authors, George Sand and Colette; and headstrong divas from the operas, Tosca and Carmen.
The collection features lightweight, printed batiste and silk fabrics from Florence, accompanied by an eco line of separates in 100% linen. Classic Mrs Pomeranz silhouettes – boatneck, wrap, shirtwaist, and full skirts – are evident throughout. This collection is as original and enduring as the women who inspired it.
